No 3255 Long Cab    (Circa 1927)

This color commonly called tan

1927 was the first year the long frame was used on the 3255 (without the reversing unit). This is the tan model that year.

Circa 1927 - At first glance this may not appear unusual, but rare to find 3255R  in Tan with the stamped steel frame. For whatever reason the tan color appears on the older cast iron frame 3255s (without the reverse unit) and the steel frame 3255Rs normally are found in cadet blue.

The 1927 version of the 3255R came with a long frame. The frame was stamped steel and had red snow plow pilots. This very rare peacock blue version has only been observed on the long frame with the red pilots

Long frame with snowplow pilots

Another 1927 version of the 3255R. This one is in Orange. Note that the rare orange 3255 was made in 1928 and had Die-Cast pilots

Circa 1929 - Don't believe IVES put this shell on this frame, but that's the way we found it. The cab is 1929 (you can tell from the paint), the frame is 1927 with the axles that protrude into the frame.
