Tender No. 1    (Circa 1910-15)

We think the embossing started around 1913

Circa 1910-12 the tender on the right is the earlier version The tender on the left is approximately 1911-1913. Notice the embossed frame on the left one.

Circa 1912-1913 - F.E. No 1 with embossed black frame.

Ives first started using the large hook coupler in 1910. These Lithographed FE No. 1 tenders from 1910-12 should all have this coupler with the rivet through the 2nd hole.

Circa 1912, the frame has black painted embossing and a riveted coupler.

Note chemically blackened wheels

Circa 1913-1915 - This was the last No. 1 tender made by Ives. It was the only No. 1 NOT to carry the "FE" designation (Fast Express), the 1913 catalog actually showed this tender.
