180 Series 1 Gauge Passenger Cars    1912-1920

No. 181 Buffet

IVES first painted passenger car, these cars were used in sets with with all the One gauge locomotives made during their lifetime.  We're not aware of any mechanical differences in the cars over their 8 year lifespan, but the example below shows at least one rare variation where the cars were marked for the "NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES". There are also reports of at least one set painted painted cherry red with cream-yellow roofs with red shading on the roof edges (much as the light green roofs are shaded with brown) and rubber-stamped PENNSYLVANIA.
